Did Obama's speech yesterday open the door for a new codeword? I mean, I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard "I'm not racist but...." Is the new accepted caveat going to be "I harbor resentment against.... because..."
How legitimate are the sentiments in a country that has been trained--as if it were possible--to be be colorblind? Is "resentment" the new "racist"? Are we permitted to talk openly and honestly about race or are we going to find new ways, kinder ways, of expressing entitlement to racist ideology?
