I'm really trying to change my lazy study habits. For some classes it was working out kind of ok to wait until the last 2-3 days to really hunker down and study. Last semester I slowly got better at getting to it a solid week before an exam, but it's like I reset after my 18 days off. I have 2 hard classes and 1 less hard class. It's a lot and I really need to manage my time better.
One of my professors, the one that agreed to be my academic advisor, started talking to me about grad school. I honestly have no idea what grad school entails, and the situation is different for a masters while in a research capacity. It's not all classes and homework and exams, she was explaining. It's doing research and working for the university while you conduct your research. She said they pay your way, for the sciences, so long as I attend a research school, like NU or Loyola. I assume that depends on grades. I hadn't really thought I'd go to grad school, at least not right away, but talking with her has sparked my interest and inspired me to try a bit harder with my studying.
I'm tired of going to school, but the end is in sight. Only 6 classes left after this semester. I get to register on Oct 24 for the spring! I know it's cheesy but I totally always think of that meme that reads "when you're ready to quit just remember why you started in the first place". It really does help. And only 6 classes after this! Only 6!
