Wow, I read my back entries and my life sucked for a while.
For those of you that asked and got no answer, one of my good friends from high school passed away in early June. Mike was more than a friend...I loved him for a long time and his death was harder to take than I ever thought imagineable. But I'm breathing again now. I miss him and I miss everything he was and all that he represented that was good in this world.
I guess now there's one more angel watching over us. A ridiculously handsome one.
In the past two months, I've moved. I'm now at Saint Stephens St. and officially off campus. I love our apartment. It's got the quirks of your typical Boston brownstone but it's coming together. Slowly but surely.
I also went to California the second week of July for GHFC. That was so amazing. I got to meet up with Mariah, Pilar, Brooke, Angela, Deb, Jill and Robyn. Of course I saw Steve, Becky and Mo. Seeing Natalia and Lindze was also a treat. I'd explain further but honestly--only Christine would get it. On a general note, I did meet some girls that read my writing and are apparently big fans. That was mind boggling. Oh! And Natty--yes, she told me to call her Natty--thinks I'm pretty. She apologized for staring at me during Becky's event. She didn't want me to think she was rude, lol. She just thought I was really pretty and clarified at the luncheon. Too funny. And Becky, equally a sweetheart, remembered our phone call and wrangled my medical services for future events (I helped a girl that passed out during the charity event) because apparently, she learned nothing from Elizabeth in "nursing school".
Shortly after my trip; two makeup exams and one paper later to be exact, I got to relax for five minutes, got sick (and so did poor Brooke, it must've been something in the hotel), got better and turned 21 on the 29th. That was soooo much fun. First we went out on midnight the night before and hit up Whiskeys which was wicked crowded. My first official drink: Comopolitan.
The next night, Laura drove in to the city (yay Lola) and we went to Cantina Italiana in the North End and had dinner with a bevy of people. The guys dispersed after dinner, then the ladies in our group (me, Chris, Meri, Nikki, Sarah and Laura) minus Buffy left for the bars in Fanuiel Hall. We saw Ethan Zahn from Survivor at The Rack, danced with authentic Irishmen at the Black Rose (a jig, if you will), provided entertainment for the masses at The Purple Shamrock. It was an amazing night. I didn't get sick.
Meri and I drove up to Maine the next day and spent the remainder of the weekend up at Frye Island with Jessie and Leeann. So much fun. And I learned to jet ski. It rocked.
I have strep now but it's not so bad. I aced my exam and had an amazing birthday. No cause for complaint. Talking would hurt my throat anyway. Not that it's stopped me before. As for this weekend?
Ole'.
