Do people just do not have morals these days? Or do they just conveniently push them aside whenever it suits them? It's been bothering me the past few days as I realize just what an immoral world we're living in. Stories of people cheating on their loved ones are told every where and to everyone. Do people just love to hurt others in their quest for their own happiness? Even if it means trying to steal someone else's spouse/significant other? Maybe because I'm Catholic and one of the Commandments is "thou shalt not steal thy neighbor's wife", and that's why I fervently believe in monogamous relationships. However, I've always thought that it's common sense to stay far away from people who are in relationships or married. Maybe that's just me.

Whatever happened to Confucius Golden Rule of "Do unto others as you wish do unto you"? It seems like I'm the only one that actually follows that rule. I have to thank my Dad for instilling such belief in me ever since I was a kid. Or maybe I'm just afraid karma will come back and bite me in the ass 10-fold that prevents me from even thinking of hurting others, whether they are my loved ones or strangers.

If everyone just lives by these two rules, this world be such a better place; no more drama, no more backstabbers, no more cheaters or liars. And best of all, no one will get hurt and unnecessary pain and tears can be avoided.
