[ The feed opens in not Marco's hands. This is immediately apparent, since Marco is sitting on the back of a cheerful-looking Venusaur. He waves at the 'Gear. ]

'Sup, Johto. Check out this badass. [ He points to the beast beneath him. ] Pam evolved a few days ago. This is why Bulbasaur is the best starter. Charizard and Blastoise are like fat, ( Read more... )

Her Miltank? She's not a problem if you've got a Rock-type like you do. Just don't let her use Attract on any male Pokémon you've got.

Sweet. That's what I wanted to hear.

I really don't think any of her Pokémon will be a problem; she trains Normal-types, and my Rhydon should be like five levels higher than her team. Throw in Hammer Arm and Focus Blast, and I think I've got it covered.

Sounds like you're set -- even more than I was. I had a Rock-type, but Gae Bolg didn't know any Fighting-type moves until I taught him Rock Smash.

Rhydons learn Hammer Arm on their own, but I bought a Focus Blast TM from the Department Store just a day or two ago just for her. [ He grins. ]

Did you have any trouble with her?

None. Between my Skarmory and my Onix, she had a hard time doing damage.

Skarmory? Never seen one. [ Marco folds his arms around Pam's giant flower stem. ] Can I see?

Sure. Come on out, Excalibur!

[Shirou grabs one of the Poké Balls on his belt and tosses it into the air. It opens, and Excalibur the Skarmory leaps out.]

He's part Steel, so he resists almost every attack type.

[ Marco leans down from Pam's back to look more closely at Excalibur. ]

Pretty cool. Steel/Flying, huh? Gotta be good for travel, too.

I haven't done much riding on him. I've got a travel partner, and she doesn't have anything that she can ride on, so we just ride on Gae Bolg all the time.

I grabbed two Onixes on my way through Union, just so I could ride all the time without wearing one out, and ended up giving one to my travel partner. Add that to Rhydon and Venusaur, and we've got it pretty easy, travel-wise.

Yeah, it sounds like it. Hopefully my partner and I can catch some more Pokémon we can ride, but if not...at least I bought a bicycle.

Hey, a bike'll do you justice on the flat roads. Gets you some exercise, too. [ He laughs a little. ]

Yep. From what I hear, I could get by with just the bike until I reach Olivine City. Then, I have to find a boat or something.

I'd go with a surfing Pokémon. Cheaper than a boat.

It might also take a longer time. And right now, the only Pokémon I've got that can use Surf is a Shellder. That's not something I can ride on too well.

Good point. If you were gonna go with that, I'd invest in a Magikarp. It's basically like training a cup of Jell-O, but once they evolve, they're pretty fast in the water.
