Joxer wasn't about to get all teary goodbye on people. But he'd packed up his few belongings, and had a few things to leave behind before he, himself, left.

Lana happened to be in her room, packing up some stuff for her trip to Smallville. "Joxer? What do you mean,'check the history books'?"

Joxer turned around and gave a smile. "I gotta go home. Which is the past, so I figure you'll be able to read all about me, you know?"

[lovelylana]

"What? Why?" Lana looked absolutely stunned. "Joxer... You're coming back, right? After Christmas?"

[joxertehmighty]

Joxer shook his head. "I'm expelled," he said. "Guess they don't take kindly to almost killin' other students."

[lovelylana]

"You almost killed someone? Joxer..." Lana wasn't sure what to say. "I can't imagine you doing that."

She hesitated. "I'll miss you," she said. "I wish you didn't have to go."

[joxertehmighty]

"It was Pete Hutter," Joxer said. "I didn't mean to, but things moved so fast, and he insulted me, and... I wish I had more brains than bravery, sometimes."

And given he wasn't all that brave, this was an extra big problem.

"Oh, Joxer..." Lana shook her head then reached out to offer a hug. "Stay safe and I'll definitely look for you in the History books."

Joxer gave her a big hug. "Thanks, Lana. For everything."

[lovelylana]

"You're very welcome," she said. "And thank you, too. You've been a very good friend to me. I hate to lose you. Fandom just won't be the same with you gone."

[joxertehmighty]

"Make sure Jim does a good job of taking care of you," Joxer said. "Or else I'm gonna have to come back and kick his butt!" He gave a little wave. "Bye."

"He will," Lana assured him, "Though it's tempting to say he wouldn't just so you'd come back." She gave him a wistful smile. "Bye. Be safe."

Joxer nodded and wander off down the hall.
