So tonight Shanna, Sam and I went and saw Mindless Self Indulgence and The AKA's. Both great bands. Both put on a good show. Also the other opener was a band I hadn't heard of called Suicide City. They were surprizingly good as well. Also the lead singer had very cool hair, always a bonus in my book. We made it to the show late, and were originally supposed to meet up with Don. However he didn't get advanced tickets and the show sold out at the door. Luckily we got our tickets through will call the night before. I only did insisted that we do this because the last time I made an attempt to go to a show at El Corazon [The Epoxies, The Aquabats and The Phenomenauts] We showed up an hour early still to be turned away at the door. I always forget what an incredibly small venue it is. So we got through the doors probably a few songs after The AKA's started their set. They were high energy as usual and I am always amazed by their ability to stir up the crowd. I was so surprized at how packed it was. Seriously not a square inch of space. Which was severely debtrimental concidering Shanna is still on crutches since she fell down the stairs. It made getting around really difficult. I edged out a path to the bar, where there was some seating and alot more standing room. On the way there I saw Nike and Steph who I hadn't seen in a long time. I asked them how they were doing and they gave me a bit more info on their wedding coming up on Halloween Eve.
Even though Sam had to go in the middle of Suicide City's set due to asthma and lack of air [because of all the cigerette and pot smoke in the air] I still had a good time. M.S.I. was alot of fun as usual. This was the fourth show I've been to of theirs. Shanna seemed to be amused by them as well, I'm glad I could share it with her. I'm always really excited when I get people into new music. Especially if I feel like they wouldn't have known of it otherwise. I was kind of surprized I didn't see anyone else I knew there. I usually see alot of people I know at M.S.I. shows. Also we got to hang with Lila afterwards. Which is always alot of fun. Lila makes me laugh a whole fucking lot. Don was supposed to come hang out too but he's a pussy fucking poser and wanted to sit in his house all by himself and cry like a little emo bitch. Other than that, a good time was had by all.
