I love the U.S. military, I really do. I am enthralled with the people who serve as soldiers in the armed forces. No doubt it has a lot to do with living near a few military installations as well as meeting and befriending a bunch of soldiers or former soldiers. However, as much as I admire the military I can't help but have a brief yet heated animosity for some of the shit that they do to one another. How the higher ups with an agenda or galling point to prove will not just screw, but completely fuck the lives of a fellow soldier. I often wonder if they really think it through and realize just how much of a repercussion their actions, driven by anger, really goes.
I'm sorry, I'm not making much sense. I just have a friend of mine who's being threatened with a dishonorable discharge because of a stupid mistake. One of the colonels has had it in for him for a while and now she's about to throw all 6 of his years in service down the tubes. Nevermind his daunting list of training hours in combat, survival, and how to be a walking terminator. Forget about his spotless record and no history of mistreating anyone. Fuck the fact that doing this to him will be a scar on his record for life. He's better, he's a hard worker, he loves what he does, he's exceptionally good at what he does, and for these things he must be destroyed.
It's just one of many stories I hear from friends. You could work your ass off, but if there's ever someone who doesn't like you and you do one thing wrong, that's it. It's over.
Yet, Mr. Nadal "Dead Legs" Hasan gets away with his shit because of his religion.
