-Much much is anew. I feel way productive nowadays. I'm actually busy and stuff, which is how I judge worth.
This is by far the best semester of my school career. I read this worldwide survey done about the quality of higher education and they found that California community colleges are the best quality education for the price in the world. yea, world. Which is pretty nutzo. People can't really complain about MC anymore seeing it doesn't get any better.
I got a paying job now working as a tech in the darkroom at the college and I can't go back to retail ever again. Fuck retail. It sounds weird, but I like a workplace where the people are happy to be there and have souls. I also have 80% downtime to do all my homework and shoot the shit with people about photo.
I've been worried about not doing enough stuff in photojournalism, but once you get unlazy and the rock rollin' everything starts moving. I shot the Barack Obama Rally at SB last saturday, talked my way into getting a press pass and was let in to that party I've always wondered was like on the inside. I was nervous as shit, but I did get a few words in with some hardcore Associated Press and Ventura Star guys and gals. It was a good crash course in being unprepared. I'm shooting the Wired Nextfest Convention this Saturday for the paper.
The rest are at
the flickr. Steve, one of my photo teaches, hooked me up so fat yesterday. He handed me a box with this in it for me to have;
It's a fatty large format camera from the 1906 or so, all I need to do is buy a lens, little fixing up, and I should have a fattybombatty to shoot with.
I'm done.
Stay groovy.
