Ssoso Saturday I assisted my first wedding photographer at wood ranch country club. It was supposedly a "small" wedding that Cary Shapiro wanted me to get a gist of what its all about. Small being like 300 people. The photographer, John, I teamed up with had a wee bit more experience than I have, like 30 years of photography and 14,000 wedding jobs under his belt. He was a chain smoker and battle hardened funny fellow. We met dressed all in black and I showed him my camera and gave me a blank stare and said "that won't do".
SO he handed me this;
his $3500 "backup" camera and told me if I drop it "I should run to my car and leave." My only guidance from him was "just take pictures." I felt pretty awkward the whole time, seeing as it was someone's really special monumental day in their life and I was running around taking pictures. I think I did alright though, I think the pay is like 15-20/hr, so hopefully they'll have more jobs for me this summer.
I start summer speech class tonight with chris which should be tolerable. the proffesor is supposedly jolly like santa claus.
Chris, Ted, Nora, Saturday night - Sunday Morning. memories.
