Bush and Kerry are both sons of privilege, but look at the difference. Bush grew up the spoiled arrogant child who partied, drank, and generally had a grand old time and scoffed at the rules "ordinary people" are expected to follow. Then he had an "epiphany." He woke up one morning after 40 undistinguished years and a night of heavy drinking and "found God." Kerry grew up a son or privilege, but he had parents who respected him and allowed him to experience his life without stepping in and rescuing him at every turn. No one bought him an oil company or a football team. No one kept him out of the draft.
Character and wisdom are built over years of experience and learning. Kerry built character. Bush didn't. You can see that Kerry matured through his lifetime experiences, growing and building wisdom along the way. Bush seems to have lived without benefit of personal growth. We can see the difference in Bush's lack of willingness or ability to analyze and evaluate. He chooses a position quickly and sticks by it right or wrong. He seems to be saying "Don't bother me with the facts. . . I know what's right."
Look at the difference in depth of character between these two candidates for leadership of our country.
I choose the guy who is willing to think, over the guy who seems to have contempt for intelligence. Kerry may be the best campaigner, but he will make a fine president and leader.
