Kerry was awesome in the debate.
He pointed out how Bush made a colossal error of judgement. And judgement is what we look for in the president of the United States of Amercia.
He started out by assuring everyone how he would hunt down terrorists and kill the the terrorists, whereever they are. I loved the way Kerry named key figures in the american military who were supportive of him, namely becasue of Bush's poor judgement. Kerry then pointed out how Bush ignored the United Nations and why American troops were needlessly sent and killed in Iraq. Kerry pointed out how the US spent $500 billion for military in Iraq but when it comes to homeland security he cuts back the COPS program.
I loved the way Kerry used a quote from Bush's father's book on why he did not pursue Iraq. The president's father did not go into Iraq, into Baghdad, beyond Basra. And the reason he didn't is, he said -- he wrote in his book -- because there was no viable exit strategy. And he said our troops would be occupiers in a bitterly hostile land. Excellent point because that is exactly where we find ourselves today. No exit out of Iraq, anytime soon. I love the line where Kerry points out "we are 90% the casualties and 90% the costs.".
