Well, the Abby holiday plans were solved. PetsHotel -- about whom I've heard good things -- charges $14 a day. She now has a reservation for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Sounds like life there will be better than here. She'll get fresh water three times a day -- at home it's once -- and they'll take her out of her "room" to wander free and explore three times a day. She won't want to come back!
