So, Saturday at the WWII memorial dedication was awesome. It was so nice to see so many people who were genuinely thankful for the country for taking time out to recognize them. And it was such a pleasant atmosphere...people gladly moving out of the way for wheelchairs, being patient at lines, thanking service people and police officers for their commitment, and listening to all the stories that make up their collective lives. They had three presidents there...but I belive that the best speech was made by Bob Dole. Too bad it wasn't as funny as when they played the National Anthem and Bill Clinton was mouthing words because he got lost and wasn't sure in some parts. Too Freakin Funny!
Yesterday, I nursed my sunburn from Saturday (I'm such a freakin' moron) and went to a motorcycle party. I appreciated the tips from the other riders and I'm supposed to make a custom piece for a BMW owner's oil drain plug. I'm going to make it out of stainless with the BMW emblem across the top. Everyone was really nice though, so I'm looking forward to seeing them again. They were in town because of Rolling Thunder, which ended up being about 500,000 motorcycle riders meeting up at the Pentagon and then making a trip around a course at the Mall. It was a pretty moving site from what I hear. After the party was over, I ended up falling asleep at Tiina's and had to do the "Walk of Shame" out of the place around 6:30 this morning.
