Tatsuya groaned as a sharp ringing woke him from his deep slumber. He blindly reached over to the drawer near the bed and tried to cut off the annoying sound by hitting his alarm clock. As it didn't work he opened his eyes and finally figured that the sound wasn't coming from the alarm clock at all, but was the sound of his doorbell. What the hell? He thought and got up, slowly walking over to the door while wrapping himself into a bathrobe. He was cursing all the way because he remembered vaguely that this was his day off and he was wondering who could want something from him at six in the morning! If it was Akanishi he swore that he would kill him! But when he opened the door there was none of his friends on the other side. In fact his neighbor women with his young daughter in her arms was the one who rang the bell.
“Ueda-san!” she said once Tatsuya had opened the door. “I need your help! I have to go to the hospital with my son and I have no-one to take care of my little Kana-chan! Would you take care of her?”
“Uhm...but I've never taken care of a child until now!” Tatsuya stuttered.
“It's okay, she's 3 years old now, that's not so young! I think you'll be fine! Please Ueda-san!” She put the sleeping girl from her arms into Tatsuya's.
“O-okay, but come back soon!” Tatsuya said panicking already.
“I will as soon as possible!” the other said and turned around to take her son to the hospital.
Tatsuya went back inside, hoping that she would be back very soon. He didn't really know how to handle children at all. He carefully looked at the not so small bundle in his arms. Kana was sleeping very peacefully and the black bangs that were hanging into her face were softly moved by her steady breath. Tatsuya couldn't help but smile. She was so cute. But then Tatsuya had to face a serious problem. Where could he let her sleep? He thought of letting her sleep in his very own bed, but wouldn't she possibly fall down if he didn't look after her? He wondered why his sleepy mind still allowed him to think like that. Well he thought that it would be best to let her sleep in his bed. He carefully laid Kana down on the sheets and pulled a blanket over her small body. She looked so peaceful sleeping there. Tatsuya sat down on the other side of the bed and watched her because he was still scared that she would fall down from the bed. But Kana didn't show any sign of doing so and her steady breathing made Tatsuya sleepy once more. But he couldn't just sleep. He had to look after her. He couldn't sleep now...

Tatsuya was woken up for the second time that day when he felt somebody tugging his locks not so gently. He groaned lowly and opened his eyes a bit. He saw Kana sitting on his chest staring at him with big round eyes.
“Uncle Tatsu, wake up!”
Uncle Tatsu? Tatsuya wondered and sat up.
“Hey Kana-chan.” he greeted her. “What is it?”
“Where is my mommy?” Kana asked him with tears in her eyes. “I wanna see mommy!” she sobbed, tears running down her cheeks.
Tatsuya was immediately in a major panic.
“D-don't cry! Your mommy will come back soon!” he said quickly.
“B-but I want to see her now!” Kana cried and didn't stop no matter how much Tatsuya tried to comfort her. Tatsuya was carrying her around in his arms, not really knowing what to do at all. He had no idea of how to handle crying children. Maybe he could ask someone? Kame? No, he had work today. Jin? Well he would probably do more bad things to poor Kana-chan than helping him. Did anybody he knew have any experience with children? Well...Ryo was recently playing the role of a daddy pretty often in his dramas...but he couldn't ask Ryo, could he? At that very moment Kana began to cry even harder and in his panic he just dialed Ryo's number without thinking any further.
“Mochi, mochi?” Ryo answered his phone and Tatsuya suddenly had no idea what to say and felt terribly embarrassed. But I thought that now it would be more than stupid to just hang up now.
“Uhm...Nishikido? It's me, Ueda...well, my neighbor, she gave me a child!! I mean she just left it here. What should I do? Because she's crying, because she just left her here!!” Tatsuya was just babbling nonsense. He felt nervous talking with Ryo all of a sudden.
“You're talking nonsense as always little princess.” Ryo answered mockingly, but Tatsuya sensed a tiny bit of worry in his voice. “Just calm down and tell me where you are, I'm coming!”
Tatsuya told Ryo his address and the other hang up. Tatsuya sat down next to Kana who was still crying and hugged her tight.
“See, just because you won't stop crying I made fool of myself towards Ryo.” he mumbled. Suddenly Kana stopped crying.
“Do you like him?”
Tatsuya got red from head to toe. “Well... maybe I like him.”
“Like I like my mommy? I miss mommy so much!” she said and started crying again.
Tatsuya chuckled. “Yes, like you like your mommy...” He hoped that Ryo could really do something for the crying girl. After a few more minutes Tatsuya heard the doorbell and he picked up Kana to open the door. On the other side he found a heavy panting Ryo.
“Uhm… you didn't have to run, you know?”
“I wasn't running!” Ryo denied quickly. “It's just the stairs.”
“There's an elevator, didn't you see it?” Tatsuya asked him chuckling.
“Oh, just shut it up, Hime!” Ryo said and focused on the girl in Tatsuya's arms. Lucky for Tatsuya, because like that Ryo couldn't see how he was blushing. He stared at Ryo amazed at how he was baby-talking with Kana who finally stopped crying and babbled with Ryo.
“Let's go in!” Tatsuya and the other two went into the living room to play with little Kana. Ryo seemed to have the quality of calming the little girl and after Tatsuya had explained the whole situation to Ryo the time went by smoothly even though Kana occupied both of them fully. After one and a half hour the doorbell rang again and Kana's mother was back to take her daughter back home.
“Was everything alright? I'm sorry that I left her here so suddenly, but her brother's fever needed to get checked!”
“Don't worry, it's okay! I hope her brother is okay?” Tatsuya said and the both men smiled.
“Yes, he's fine now! Thank you again! Everything is okay now!”
“Yes, everything is okay!” Kana said smiling brightly. “Because uncle Tatsu said he likes uncle Ryo!”
Tatsuya blushed hard as they waved goodbye to mother and daughter and he felt Ryo's piercing stare on him. When they got back in, Ryo suddenly grabbed his arm and pushed him against the wall.
“You said you like me? That's new to me!” Ryo said and grinned at Tatsuya.
“No… no I didn't mean that...” Tatsuya felt nervous, because Ryo was too close to him.
“Oh really? That's sad...I thought children are always saying the truth?” Ryo said in a low voice and he was coming so clear that their breaths mingled.
“Uhm...why sad?” asked Tatsuya with a tomato red face.
“Because I like you, too!” Ryo said and leaned in to capture Tatsuya's lips and kissed him softly. Tatsuya's mind went completely blank and his knees got wobbly. He felt like heaven when Ryo kissed him. When the other pulled away, he slowly panted: “Well, maybe children ARE always saying the truth!” and leaned forward to kiss Ryo back.
