Don't know how many of you out there are "car savey" and what not, ~_^ but this past weekend we went to a car show in Farmer's Branch at a shop called Unique Performance. They've been featured in "Over Haulin'", a TV show (hosted by Chris and previously Courtney) where they "take" someone's car and rebuild, remodel, reconstruct, repaint it, you name it! The driving force behind the creative turns the car takes, is a man by the name of Chip Foose.
Well he was their 'special guest' along with the host Chris from the show. (...oh and AJ too...the new girl host, but we didn't see her and that was okay....) There was a line to meet him, as we all know about due to A-kon Conventions. Sadly though, when we got there the line had been closed due to time. Even celebrities need a life. ~_^
However, Piper....our 3 year old who watches the show with Daddy...would not let the line, the bar across it, the people, the security guard, the OTHER security guy standing there, or Mommy stand in her way. She was like a heat missle set on "seek and de-" well, okay, not destroy, but definitly seek and meet! I had to keep a finger crooked in the collar of her shirt least she get away. This was noticed with some amusment (and not so much amusment) by stander-bys, the security guards, the employees walking that area, us (as in parents), and the lady working the T-shirt booth next to the signing table. And it seems Piper won the heart of them all....for the lady ended up asking (per our request) if it would be alright for Piper to meet him. To our shock, joy, and amazment STILL, he (as in Mr. Foose) said "Yes." ~ see picture below.
It was the highlight of our day at least if not our weekend, and the Good Lord knew we'd need it, cause I've been sick ever since we got back home that afternoon. But I digress....... For Mr. Foose and Mr. Chris were great! She didn't really get to talk to Chris much, but I've got a picture or two where he's peeping around at her. They traded high fives, talked a little one on one, and after the photo-op ended up talking about bubble gum. Bubble gum?! Yes, bubble gum. As a matter of fact, "bubble gum with wings" even though Mr. Foose was told by our very frank 3 year old that bubble gum didn't come with wings. Stil even now in recalling Mr. Foose's face, I think he was a little taken back by that statement and maybe a little unsure how to respond back. It's hard to argue with a matter-of-fact 3 year old, I know...I'm her parent!!!
The famous picture, that we now have hanging on her wall right beside her bed. You should see that kid grin as she gazes up at that thing. "He my best friend."
And this one is just an extra. Piper really did have a lot of fun at that car show!! I did too!! ^_^
Got more pictures from there, but I'm tired and it's late. Hate when my good thinking comes at midnight or later....makes for worse spelling, so please forgive the above?
Good night! ~_~
