I'd love to be added to your journal. I write a lot about our various pets. (We have four rescued cats and the two parrots -- a CAG and G2 Sophie.) I'd love to know someone else who has a G2 too!

It's always great to find someone else with parrots but especially a Goffin :D Sometimes I think we all need a support group, one who makes toys with infinite knots to keep them busy.

And most people on my list do not have parrots and think I am weird. What is it about parrots? People can own all sort of animals but have a few parrots and you get that *look* from people. I swear one day I am going to take a portrait in an evening gown holding all 4 of them.

Of course the Goffin will be pulling my hair and the Grey will steal my earrings and my Eclectus will be screaming at them for bugging me and the Amazon will be attacking me for touching his Grey girlfriend, so it's gonna be a pretty sad portrait.

LOL! Yeah, I think my "Friends" list friends think I'm insane. I'm constantly talking about the animals or posting cute pictures. :)

My husband recently got the CAG. He'd been wanting one for a long time and finally we found a really sweet baby. Before that he'd say, "Jen! It's just a bird! Stop spoiling her!" when I'd buy stuff for Sophie all the time.

Now he does the same with his Grey!

He said, "It's hard for non-parrot owners to understand just how much you can love these guys!"

:D

I had the "I wants" for a Grey too. They are amazing. She was my third parrot. Eclectus, Goffin, Grey, and Amazon. That's my limit. I no longer have the "I wants", these guys take enough time and I just enjoy all their different personalities. It really is hard for non-parrot owners to understand how much they become a part of your life. My Grey will be 3 in November and she is so smart. She amazes me with her intelligence. I kept wondering if or when she would talk and when she turned 1 year of age she started and never stopped. She knows which cat is which, which dog is which, the difference in people, she sees it all. She was 3 months when I got her and she reverted from weaning so I let her wean at her own pace and she took a daily feeding up until she was about 7 or 8 months. Just at night but I thought she would never give it up. My Amazon and her are carrying on some weird Romeo and Juliet love affair. :D

Wow, your grey sounds amazing! We got ours at 10 weeks old (grr - bad breeder!) but immediately put her back on baby food. We feed her 3x/day right now, just comfort stuff, and then have her on pellets/fresh fruits/veggies.

My husband's like, "She's already weaned! Why are we doing this?"

*Jen thrusts baby food in his hand*

"YOU'RE doing this because she's YOUR bird and she's still a BABY and will need baby food for quite a while!" LOL

She adores him -- and she learns things so freaking fast! Geesh! Do you ever chat on AIM/MSN? I don't usually -- I'm often busy with school and stuff -- but I'd love to get to know you better!

I'm so happy to meet a G2/CAG/++ owner!!

Yea, seriously, I thought my Grey would never wean. Then one day she just refused the syringe. It was like YAY. Then "ooh..sad" then "YAY" again. I will give some to my Goffin if he is being hard to put to bed, but that he goes to bed now easily, which is great because his previous owners let him sleep IN THEIR BED so he was terrified of cages when I bought him. It took a very long time for me to get him used to the idea of not screaming for hours every night. He was the typical story of a bird who was bought in place of a child and when she got pregnant...they sold him. So he was spoiled rotten. I have MSN and AIM, I don't use AIM but I have used MSN and Yahoo and all of my contacts are on my profile page :D

BTW, I just read your profile. I so relate to much of it! I was raised in super-religious family and had to wear gosh-awful clothing until I was 20 and left. People still walk up to me and say, "Weren't you that Amish girl from....?" ACK!

And I'm an incorrigible geek. Ah well, happens to the best of us ;)

LOL oh no. Yea, Jehovah Witness raised. People say "are you still one?" and it's like "have you seen my wardrobe? OF COURSE NOT."

And while none of my friends are computer geeky people, I do (to their horror) play World of Warcraft which makes me, kinda geeky.

Okay, really geeky. I have a headset too. :O
