I watched GOE:SS's sub of the 'A Week Holiday' Photobook and had a strong emotional reaction to his response, so I thought I'd share..Of course, all credits for translation go to the team who worked on the video:
"I think that a real man is someone who can stay in control and not lose his temper. To stay in control could mean several things, with different meanings and reasons. It doesn't necessarily mean staying in control when something bad happens, but there are times when although you know something is not right, you need to stay in control and just get over it. This can be harder done than said sometimes, but I think being able to get through, that could be a life lesson. I think that's the meaning of being a real man. Staying in control also takes courage, so that's why I think about what a real man is. All 5 of our members have that side to them. It could sound like I'm bragging, but all of us are able to stay in control, and hide our insides when we have to.
Being a real man doesn't mean that all you need is to have charisma and look cool on the outside. It means that even if you have this side of you naturally...Normally, you can just smile and make people happy. I think that's what being a real man with charisma means. Not striking a pose or saying something just to look charismatic on the outside, because that's just trying to make yourself seem like a real man. It doesn't mean that you really are a manly person. Being able to show yourself as a manly person when you need to, but you don't need to make it seem like you're always manly like that. You tend to lose friends when you're trying to pretend to be manly all the time, so I thinks it's better to act naturally more than anything. I think all 5 of our members are like that. We all have a little part to us that is able to control ourselves when it's needed. This is why I think all our members are cool and are real men."
For what a real man truly is though, I would have to combine Yunho and Junsu's answers. ♥
