Good Recipes/Ideas To Reuse

May 09, 2013 11:07

I've always wanted to have a table of contents when it comes to recipes I like to make that are actually good for me. It's too easy to remember the 'bad' and super tasty recipes while completely forgetting about the good food ideas that are better for day to day use.

I'm structuring this by main ingredient type, mostly, because I shop by sales or fresh farm produce. Knowing what I need to use up is far more useful to me than meal type organization. I've also got a few of the meal types that we like to eat the most (or to specify what is good for trips). Also, I want to keep things that Kon would especially like that don't immediately come to my mind since I'm generally sweet avoidant even in the case of fruit.

Note, these are (mostly) healthy lifestyle recipes, so if I'm made you something sinfully delicious before, it's likely not on here. :B I'll update them as I make them as to how they're liked.

Fruits
Multigrain PB Apple wrap
Rustic Apple Fig Tart

Fruit Dips
Pumpkin Fruit Dip

Smoothies
Almond Shake/
Pumpkin Oatmeal Smoothie
Mint Chocolate Smoothie
Green Ginger Lemonade

Drinks
Coconut Latte
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Sierra Strawberry Smoothie A++

Baked
Pumpkin Spice Muffins
Apple Cinnamon Muffins
Coconut Flour Brownies
Cocoa Oat Breakfast Muffin
Bran Flax Muffins
Blueberry Flax Muffin A These are really good and freeze really well. I could take one frozen in my bag to work and eat it as a mid-morning snack just fine. Remember, I don't like many sweets, so I find these plenty sweet as is.
Kittencal Spinach Parm Rice Bake

Odd Carbs
Cottage Cheese Pancakes A - Add walnuts/pecans and process that with the oatmeal first, then go for the rest. These freeze great, reheat fine and have enough flavor to be good with just some fruit jam.
Whole Wheat Pizza Crust B Nice, nutty and chewy. Very satisfying.
Whole Wheat Italian Bread A - Good, dense and chewy bread. Tastes great with butter (what diet?), a little too dense for something like an olive oil dip, but good with soups.
Rosemary Roasted Root Veggies
Zucchini Fritters
Tomato Mushroom Cali Crust Pizza -Note: Always use FRESH cauliflower for this type dish.
Kale Chips/
Portobello Burgers
Raw Broccoli Asian Salad
Avocado Pesto Alfredo Spaghetti Squash
Carrot Miso Dressing
Squash Mac
Butternut Squash Fries
Broccoli Salad
Carrot Sushi Roll
Curried Lentil Sweet Potato Stew
Raddish Home Fries
Spaghetti Squash Casserole
Zucchini Gratin
Broccoli Egg Bake
Stuffed Zucchini
Lentil Soup
Light Potato Dill Soup A - I add a lot of garlic. Pretty thin and great with a sandwich.
Roasted Raddishes

Meat/Seafood
spinach Stuffed Turkey Roll
Lentil Veggie Meatloaf
Garlic Lime Shrimp
Lemon Garlic Tilapia
Applesauce Pulled Pork A++ EXTREMELY Sweet.
Pesto Chicken Rollups
Chicken Milano
Lo Carb Chicken Curry
Spinach Lasagna Add some dried zucchini slices
Tuna/Salmon Muffins
Apple chicken Salad
Oven Fried Chimichangas A++ DELICIOUS.
Turkey Burgers A++ The carrots make it VERY MOIST. Add scallions for more zing.

A Full Meal
Avocado chicken Basket
Avocado Shrimp Salad Salad
Sausage Harvest Stuffed Pumpkins
Turkey Broccoli Lasagna
Baked Portobello Mushroom Eggs
Indian Brown Rice and Lentils
Tofu Chimi Changas A++++++ LOVE these.
Vegetarian Meatloaf
Mushroom Walnut Orzo
Sauceless Garden Lasagna A++ (Can add a 'meat' layer for more flavor. I added ground kielbasa and it was very rich)
Veggie Meatball Soup
Tofu Sloppy Joe
Lemon Mushroom Orzo
Sesame Chicken Pasta Salad A++ Sweet and a bit heavy.
Biryani
Black Bean Tortilla Bake A+ Make sure to drain tomatoes very well, if you use flour tortillas, you risk it being soggy.
Four Cheese Manicotti A++++ So F-ing good (also, not that 'diet').
Spinach Cheese 'Sausage' Lasagna B- Good, but bland as is. But very easy to tweak up to great territory. Add broc/mushrooms/peppers and seasonings.

Slow Cooker
Two Bean Southwest Chicken
Pulled Pork
Chicken and Dumplings
Coconut and Curry Turkey Chili
Thai Chicken Massaman Curry
Balsamic Pear Mushroom Chicken
Overnight Oatmeal
White Bean Chicken Chili A+
Easy Chicken Tortilla Soup
Chicken Black Bean Crock A++ Great! To lighten make sure you add less/no regular cream cheese or half and half to your own bowl (not boiling hot). Light cream cheese will NOT MELT.

Sauces
Honey Mustard Dressing
Japanese Ginger Dressing (Needs tweaks)
Vegan Cashew Alfredo A+ (I love adding pesto to this)
Beet Sunflower Pesto
Green Goddess Dressing
Red Enchilada Sauce A+ Only enough sauce to do maybe a 9x9. Double to go 9x13. The extra sauce is good on rice left overs.
