Blackadder Series I (1983) TV series
The second son of the fictional King Richard IV schemes to gain the throne with the help of his two sidekicks, high jinks ensue. Very different in tone from the later Blackadder series, but overall enjoyable if you like sitcoms with a historical background. I particularly loved the adapted Shakespeare quotes. Great fun for fans of Monty Python-esque humor.

The Last Detective Season 1 (2003) TV series
Kindly, pragmatic Detective "Dangerous" Davies has been demoted from Inspector and struggles to help everyday citizens while harassed by his superiors. The series is refreshingly non-gritty for a modern crime drama. It unfolds at leisurely pace and takes its time to build suspense. I'll also add that Davies has an adorable bromance friendship with the character Mod. It'll never happen but I privately just wish Davies would cut ties to his unsympathetic ex-wife and move in with Mod. Recommended for a quieter sort of crime drama.

Wire in the Blood Episodes 1& 2 (2002) TV Series
Two words: Torture porn. Literally. I'm surprised they got away with showing as much as they did, which was too much. I couldn't stomach looking at the screen for large chunks of this two parter starter of a series. There was more gore than Dexter and Game of Thrones combined. I also didn't care for the main characters or their primary relationships. Will not be watching more.
