Legal in Montreal, oh how les bons temps vont rouler muahahaha.
Last night for birthday celebrations pretty much everyone from McConnell 7 hit up this place called Queue Leu Leu to fete Kim and I. I find it slightly odd how accustomed I am becoming to club-like atmospheres since pre-McGill I wouldn't touch them with a 39 and a half foot pole. (Dr. Seuss reference entirely intended)
Anyway, this place was awesome, it was a dance place but with so little floor space that one is pretty much forced to dance on table tops and the runway in the middle of the room. My friends Hannah, Marian, Ben, Eileen and Sarah and that guy whose name I forget, did a countdown to midnight and my birthday while we were busting serious drunk moves on the catwalk in front of hmmm HUNDREDS of people. It was great. Then the bartenders did a line dance number on the runway, wearing almost Alp-like clothes including cuffed shorts, knee high socks, and suspenders. Later on they also did a dance to "It's raining men." Another good thing about Queue Leu Leu is that is way more local than a lot of the bars etc. we usually go to around the student ghetto. Most of the people in there were Quebecois, and the music included a lot of French stuff. People around me seemed quite shocked when I started to sing along with "Femme like you" a song that few anglophones know, fewer people actually like, but unfortunately gets stuck in your head rather quickly if a certain french exchange student (namely my dearest Marine) play it frequently. The clincher is the great melange of English and French in the lyrics. "Je veux un homme like you, bad-boy tu sais t'un player" for example. How can one not be amused??
Upstairs there is like a normal bar with tables and pool, pretty sweet.
Post the club/bar thing I stumbled into a cab to Brendan's where I then stumbled up the unnecessarily steep front stairs...
Overall it was an incredible birthday weekend, best ever en fait, though I do wish my Toronto friends could have been there :(
Now it's nighttime and I still have calc to do... SWEET!
