The porcupine roadkill poem

Porcupine number one met a car and now he's done.
Porcupine number two, met a truck and now she's through.
Porcupine number three bounced off the truck and hit a tree.
Porcupine number four became a soggy pile of gore.
Porcupine number five, didn't make it out alive.
Porcupine number six, looks like a bloody pile of sticks.
Porcupine number seven, waddled slowly off to heaven.
Porcupine number eight, met an awfully grisly fate.
Porcupine number nine, managed to dodge and he is fine.
Porcupine number ten will not pass this way again.
Porcupine number eleven, is up in heaven with number seven.

Honestly, I lost track of the number of unfortunate porcupines. They seem to be Maine's equivalent to armadillos or opossums.
