What to do?

So as many of you know, almost a year ago my husband and I decided to break away from my job, and move to Colorado in an attempt to improve our qualify of life.  I took a year's leave of absence from my work as a saftey net, so we could come back in case everything didn't work out.

Fast forward to two months ago: Still living in my parents' basement, I was offered a job in Suffolk, VA.  Dave and I thought about it long and hard, and decided we'd be happier back in Virginia.  We've been missing the weather, the fact that things grown, Williamsburg, apple farms, and so many other neat things about the East Coast.  The nice thing about Suffolk is the cost of living is very similar to Colorado, so we could still hope to have an improved quality of life.  Unfortunately for us, after making our decision the job offer fell through.

We now feel that Colorado just isn't for us (nothing wrong with it, I grew up here, I just miss too much about the East Coast).  We're pretty miserable right now.  My husband has a job that can still move for a few more weeks, but after that we're locked in to being in the area for 3-5 years.  So what on earth do we do?  If I just go back to my job in DC, I'll still be unhappy with the cost of living.  We can't afford to move to Suffolk on my husband's salary alone, and I although I'm trying my darndest, I can't find another job in the Suffolk area.

I'm very frustrated, and very unhappy.  I feel like we've become 'stuck' in Colorado in my efforts to improve my quality of life, and now I'm even more unhappy than when I was in DC.  What would you do if you were in my situation?
