2020 The year that was

Jan 05, 2021 22:54

What did you do in 2020 that you'd never done before?
I studied, and passed, a master level university course.
Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I had a long list of things I wanted to do but during the spring I came to the realization that I had planned for too much, the list kept me from being proud over the things that I actually  accomplished, so I decided that it was ok to not always trying to be better, that it was ok to just be me and breath. I will make a list for next year but it won't be as long, and breathing will be one of my resolutions.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
Did anyone close to you die?
No.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes, my knee and my mind.
What countries did you visit?
England with N, it felt like a new start to my life in so many ways...then came corona and the travel ban.
What would you like to have in 2021 that you lacked in 2020?
Travel.
What date from 2020 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
This year all the days are just a blur since nothing big or important or inspiring really happened because of corona restrictions.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Learning about, and understanding (!) the pension system.
What was your biggest failure?
Not taking the signs, and all the different doctors telling me, that my body was hurting because of stress, seriously.
What's your biggest regret?
Not doing enough yoga for my body and my mind.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being able to go to Cornwall.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
This was a year when I didn't interact with that many people so this year this is an unanswerable question.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My bosses, they do not do what they say that they are going to do.
Who did you miss?
My dad, he would have calmed me down now that I am sick and scared.
Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I really do not approve of the health care system that we have in this country.
Where did most of your money go?
My London trip.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Nothing happened this year that was worth getting really, really, really excited about.
What was the best thing you bought?
I bought this black dress in London that was the symbol of this new exciting life I was going to have starting 2020. Then everything shut down and I haven't worn it...yet.
What did you want and got?
I wanted a new job title, more pay and for my new job to be my full time job. Both me and my boss thought that that was what was decided back in august, but somehow my other boss doesn't seem to understand that I don't work for them anymore even though we all agreed. So I maybe got what I wanted, I'm not quite sure.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
My birthday was on a friday and I somehow managed to work until late in the evening so I kind of missed the actual day, but the day after the boy came over and we played frisbee golf and Wii all day, it was great! I turned 36.
Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? About as sad as I was this time last year, but for different reasons
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner
iii. richer or poorer? Richer
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Working out.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Sitting.
Did you fall in love in 2020?
No
How many one-night stands?
Zero
What was your favorite TV program?
Oh my lord, Normal people of course! It was like watching all the relationships of my life and how one after another have broken me and my self-worth down, I know now the importance of prioritizing what is good for me so that I don't continue on this path  and end up in Luleå feeling worthless.
What was the best book you read?
I only read two books and Miss Marple the complete short stories was better than The mystery of the blue train, both by Agatha Christie of course.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
Last year I had Taylor Swift when I'm energetic, so I think it's ok to say Taylor Swift this year too but this time for all moods.
What was the best advertisement?
It kind of isn't an advertisement, but it kind of is since it is about something to come, the B+T campaign.
What was the best movie you watched?
Yes, I am adding a question because this was the year I watched a bunch of movies and two of them are worth remembering, the Gentlemen and A Simple Favour, both of them were so good that I watched them three times each in two days.
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Taylor Swift, she's so strong and clever.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2020?
Like everyone working from home, all put together on top with comfy pj bottoms.
What kept you sane?
Nothing obviously.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2020:
Doing nothing is actually something I really need to do
What song will always remind you of 2020?
London boy because I first heard it in a shop in London
Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
I fåtöljen /.../ där har jag mitt liv
Mina blommor de dör
Jag är trött, trött och skör
Men jag kan va stark
Jag kan få allt
Jag kan sprida färg
Jag kan regera
Men det blir nog /.../
