It's official - This is Jekyll and Hyde week

Aug 24, 2009 18:11

First I literally hear from my idea/vision of Jekyll and Hyde (I hope Latham knows that's a compliment) this past Saturday night. Tonight I'm going to partially willingly miss tonight's WEEDS just so I can record FREDRIC EFFING MARCH'S Jekyll and Hyde. He's my favorite film version, no contest. Spencer Tracy? Uh. No. The Hoff (on stage and the only musical version to come to DVD)? A world of HELL TO THE NO.

Broadway - it's all about Anthony Warlow. I am a Sabastian Bach fan most of the time - visually he was amazing, but singing-wise... maybe he was just having "off nights" in the footage I've seen, but musically I can't stand him as Jekyll and Hyde. But again, visually he was the part - no question. Plus I'm not much of a Colleen Sexton as Lucy fan. Give me Linda Eder any day. And would it have killed them to include Bring on the Men instead of Good 'n' Evil? Really?

Add to all of this, I've REALLY been in the mood for classics lately which is so unlike me. I'm STILL kicking myself for missing Bonnie and Clyde the other night, I'd kill to see Bride of Frankenstein on again (NO IDEA what happened to my copy of it *cries*). 1944 Jane Eyre? YESPLZ! I dunno, maybe all these new movies of suckage (save for a few I've mentioned lately that I want to see - all murder mysteries, go fig) are causing my mother's influence to come out...
