What's the standard "rule" for chapter length in multi-chap fics?

i always shoot for at least 1200, but it really depends on the fic and what the chapter is about. if it needs to be longer make it longer, shorter make it shorter. my chaps usually fluctuate from 1000 to 6000 depending on the subject matter of the chapter. if you can get everything you want into the chapter with 1000 words then thats all you need.

are you writing a multichap fic? which ship??????????

Awesome. That's exactly what I was thinking. I think only one so far is just over 1,000 (though that might change in editing) and the rest are around the 1,500-1,900 range.

Funny story - I didn't originally intend for this to be a multi-chap fic. But since it's not all taking place in one day or in one place like most of mine do and the breaks I've put in have (unintentionally) come after the 1,000 word mark - oh, and the fic's already nearing 20 pages and 10,000 words, it seems fitting.

And which ship? DoVe. :D
