Canterbury Tales Presentation
Greetings to all of ye good men,
I'd like to introduce myself and tell you where I've been.
I am the Squire-a handsome youth, and though only twenty,
I have many good qualities, virtues aplenty.
Of course I am strong, agile and bold
and my curly golden hair is a sight to behold.
I am remarkably talented at music, verse, and dance,
and I make ladies swoon with merely a glance.
I am such an avid lover that nearly every night
I am out carousing until the first ray of light.
My personality is certainly not in want-
for no perils or trials can my joyful mood daunt.
And so jovial am I,I have heard them say,
that I could be compared to the beautiful month of May.
I wear a short cloak with sleeves long and wide,
and embroidered flowers can be found up and down every side.
But that is certainly enough talk about me,
so permit me to share my tale with thee.
A kind king was given a magic mirror, ring, and iron horse,
in fact, one of his gracious knights was the source.
The princess wore the magical ring
which allowed her to understand birds and responses sing.
With this unquestionably wonderful gift
she was able to give a heartbroken fowl an encouraging lift.
And now, listen closely to the next pilgrim,
and your chances of becoming bored will grow quite slim.
From you pleasant and patient listeners I take my leave,
and will let the yeoman take the lead.
I'm actually pretty excited about doing this presentation. For one thing, it should be an easy grade, and when else would I get to dress up like a squire? woohoo..
ok, moving on. I learned some exercises for mallets yesterday and today. It was exhilarating, lol. No really, it was quite fun; I was sad when I ran out of time. Shea was a good teacher. thanks again!
The candidate at church is the new pastor, and I'm pretty excited about it actually. He seemed to have good ideas for the church.
There's nothing else going on really, but let me know what you think about my poem! And don't laugh too hard if you see me in costume tomorrow! lol :)
