Today it looks like we're headed out to Cache Creek Casino which might be a fun now that I'm over 21 WooT Woo! Sweet God of bars and gambling :) Nah I probably won't do much, all I want if a fruity mixed drink and I'm cool :) That's all I've wanted since I turned 21 lol but all I get is shots of this or that lmao ;)
Tomorrow night at the Buddhist Center our Lama is coming to teach a Dharma class and lead a meditation, it will be the first time I've met him if we decide to go. It may be nice, but it also makes me nervous because I hear that the nights that the Lama comes are pretty packed and I barely made it through a room with 6 people other than friends LOL. One thing that struck me when I went is how nice the instructors are, they can relate to you which is great. For example, he asked if I had a regular sitting (meditation) practice, and I said "Semi" and he just said, "All of us here are Semi sitters looking for the motivation andf a bit more discipline from the Sangha(Spiritual group)", which I thought was really cool :) For once I didn't feel inadequate for not sitting enough, but also realized that in order for all this knowledge to actually mean anything I have to put it into practice. That has always been my problem. plenty of knowledge and not enough practice. I usually maintain the status of an armchair *fill in blank*. And that needs to stop here :) With my friends with me as motivators I'm sure we can do this. Hell, I doubt I would've even gone the first time without Danielle keeping with it and bringing it up and making sure we all had it planned, sure it took her 3 weeks, but we all went finally and I'm totally proud of her for that, she even quit smoking pot and is reading books on Buddhism now, How cool is that?! *smiles proudly* So maybe we can help keep eachother on track, Buddhism isn't an easy religion and requires a lot of practice, it's definitely a commitment.
