An open letter to Seth and anyone else in ACE who supports his bullshit

Congratulations. You "won". You were able to blatantly cheat, be a douchebag about it, throw a huffy when people called you exactly what you are - that, for the record is cheating asshats - and just when you realized everyone knew you were assholes, you decided NOW was the time to compromise and only because Joe has INFINITE times more patience ( Read more... )

I love you, man, but I reserve the right to disagree!

P.S. The vehemence of your post requires me to bust out with the Manatee. Oh, the Huge Manatee!

I'm gonna be propping that STs be added to the by-law about "genre changing" plots that coords have to abide by due to these shenanigans.

Seriously, I asked ACE THREE TIMES for a papertrail that showed that this wasn't dreamt up after the fact--they ignored me every time.

This was something put together after the PCs death.

I worry about props like that. We're an org *designed* to interact with each other, and we've been progressing our own take on genre for years now. I can't imagine how many things we might have to prop if something like that passes!

As for the Book situation...there was lack of documentation on both sides. Important documentation. I'm not saying that the ACE STs were as helpful as they could've been, but I don't believe it was the uber-cheaty scenario it was painted to be.

I'm going to leave it at that. This was a very angsty issue for me.

I am not sure the proposal is the best option, either. It is hard to draw a line in some cases as to what is local, and what does affect nearby games, or sometimes things that get out of hand and affect the whole org. I do think this case was clearly over that line, and the responsible ST staff would inform the coord something was coming their way. Too bad we cannot really propose/enforce being responsible and considerate member chronicle.

I honestly have no idea if there was cheating in this case. It looks really bad, though - that is undeniable. Hopefully people take the lesson that trying to out a whole clan on a variety of topics requires you to have something in writing with your STs, and that a "I know it has been six months, but trust me, we set this up" is not really enough for something of this magnitude.

>This was something put together after the PCs death.

In the end, this is what the real problem was. We can debate all day the merits of informing coords/council on plot, but I can't get past the systemic level of cheating that went on with this.

Seth did it. The ST's did it. And all of them knew it too.

Thankfuly, it's been redlined now...for the most part. It should have all been gone, but Joe chose to honor his offer to save us some drama, and I can't argue with that.
