Oh, Teaching Company, why are you not bright?

So, I'm a big fan of the courses from The Teaching Company and have recently been on an ancient Greece kick, listening to the Iliad, the Odyssey, the Aeneid, and I'm in the middle of Classical Mythology. All of these lectures have been done by one woman, Elizabeth Vandiver. I've gotten used to her lecturing style, and when it goes on sale, I'm probably going to buy her Greek Tragedies lectures, too.

So, I want to backup the CDs to my Zune and to my hard drive (with the Zune I listen to them at the gym). Its easy enough to import them through iTunes, however the difficulty comes in how The Teaching Company has labeled the disks. For the Iliad, they all went to a folder called "The Teaching Company." Fair enough. However, for the Odyssey, they go into a folder called "Elizabeth Vandiver." Uh, okay, I suppose. And I'll even overlook them spelling "Goddess" as "Godess." I mean, its not like they are educators or anything. Then it gets interesting. For Classical Mythology, the first disk goes in as Elixabeth (sic) Vandiver. The other 11 discs go into Elizabeth Vandiver. The lectures are listed 1a - 1f, 2a - 2f, 3a - 3f, etc., up until disc 5, which you might think is 9a - 9f and 10a - 10f. Nope, now they are 5-A through 5-L. But only for disks 5 and 6. On disc 7, it goes back to 13a - 13f and 14a - 14f.

But wait, there's more! For the Aeneid, the directory of choice is "Compilations", and the discs are titled things like "The Aeneid Of Virgil, 1 of 6." Oh yeah, except that disk 3 and disk 4 are both titled "The Aeneid Of Virgil, 4 of 6." And disk 6 goes into a folder called "Vandiver" and is just called "Aeneid, Disc 6" and all of the tracks are untitled. It didn't take long to move things around and rename them, and seriously, for a company called The Teaching Company, I think this is pretty sad.

dumb people, sadness, personal development
