I'm thinking of going to Otakon this year

Admittedly, Baltimore in the middle of August isn't my favorite place to be. In fact, the summer weather there is one of the reasons I no longer live in Baltimore. However, my family is in Baltimore, so I have a free place to stay, plus I get to see them, and with my dad in not the greatest of health these days (it seems to me like he's spending about 1/4 of his time in hospitals) it gives another excuse to visit. I may only go for 1 day, unless I decide to do photo shoots. I really want to expand my portfolio this year. Char will probably always be my favorite model, and she's a great one, and I think that a portfolio featuring only one person doesn't really show my range. With the convention not for four and a half months, I don't have to make a decision yet.

One possible monkey wrench is its proximity to Comic-con. Depending on how many people I get to split the room with me, CC could be very expensive. That could cut into my budget for things (although the free room and car aspect nullify that a bit) and the flip side is that if I just kick butt work-wise, money shouldn't be an issue by then.
