Addictions.
Everyone has them, and most people realize that. Not all of them are horrible and crippling. People are addicted to nicotine and still are able to live a normal life. There is that whole cancer thing, but that takes years to develop. Some people are addicted to a certain song, they have to listen to it over and over until they burn out on it.
Some addictions are dangerous. Alcohol, drugs, sex. Okay, maybe not the last one. These addictions can keep you from living, they can control your every movement. Everything you do is just to get more, you become calculating, devious, using any means necessary to get what you crave.
People can also be addictions. You find yourself needed to be around someone, needing to touch them, hold them, make love to them, talk to them, make them laugh. You live to see their smile and know you were the cause of it. Love. I think it's the most powerful addiction of them all. It drives you to make yourself a better person so that you can better please the object of your affections.
You can't help but look me in the eye
While I come running, I don't know why
It's an addiction, image of love
Your heart pushing, angel from above
jet lag's a bitch.
