Over on his blog. Ryan Macklin has posted character creation rules for his long-upcoming game Mythender and has invited everybody to give the rules a spin.

I took him up on the opportunity, and you should, too. Here's what I came up with:

Rúrik Dúisson, Apostate Commander

What Myth did you devote yourself to?
I was the high priest of Freyja, the harsh and demanding "goddess" of the fields, sorcery, and war. I led the temple in Rotterheim.

What was done to make you flee your oaths and bonds?
I was ordered to start a war so that those who died in battle would go to Freyja. When I refused, I was silenced and exiled, and by the time I returned to Rotterheim, the walls had fallen and even the women and children were pressed into the town's defense.

What did you give that can never be replaced?
My wife and daughter were taken by Freyja as servants; they now reside with her in her hall, Sessrúmnir, on the heavenly battlefield Fólkvangr. Therefore we march on heaven to free the captives she keeps there.

Who follows you into battle?
The Free Peoples of Midgard, the finest warriors of Norden who have turned away from their treacherous gods.

How did you gain your companions?
Village by village, ale hall by ale hall, temple by temple. I was the pebble; my first companions the snowball; now we are an avalanche.

Do you still try to act human around them? Why/why not?
They cannot know that we kill Myths with their own power. They cannot know that I bear that power. They cannot know what I might become. If they ever know any of this, they won't kill me… they'll worship me.

Weapons

The Falcon-Feathered Cloak, stolen from Freyja, is my weapon. I use it to end Myths by moving unseen and in disguise. (Relic 3)

The Free Peoples of Midgard are my weapon. I use it to end Myths by besieging their strongholds, slaughtering their armies, and rallying the downtrodden with the hope of freedom. (Companion 3)

The Spinning Charms of Seidr is my weapon. I use it to bind, warp, and rend the mortal world with the stolen power of the gods. (Intrinsic 5)

Forms

Mortal Form
I appear as a tall, lean man dressed in furs and feathers, with a burgundy skull cap.

Presence of Judgment
Guilt and hope follow me like a wake; tortured consciences, desperate resolutions, and unwilling confessions happen around me.

Paragon Form
I appear as a cadaverous old man with glowing red eyes.

Supernatural Form
I appear as a ten-foot-tall titan, skin tinged blue and with eyes of fire.

Godly Form
I appear as a hooded, skeletal giant, perpetually backlit, looking down on mortals with fiery red eyes.

Bonds

I hesitate to slaughter Eire because she reminds me why I rebelled.
I hesitate to slaughter Nerick Spellchaser because he reminds me of what I was.
I hesitate to slaughter Mr Byrne and his friend Mr Downs because they show me a new way.

Heart's Connection

Endangered

Notes ---

A short list of the Hearts and Histories would have been nice so I could see them all at the same time.

Hearts and Histories seem backwards. While I might select Heart before History, I always want to answer the questions of History before Heart.

Presence of Judgment is HARD.

More guidance on Forms would be appreciated. Maybe select icons or motifs, and then progressively incorporate those into the forms?

You provide two names lists. Assuming first one is male and second one female?

Typo, last page, top of second column: All Weapons you wield ARE strong enough…

Bonds have two syntax structures:
1) _______________ reminds me of what I was.
2) I hesitate to slaughter _______________________ because:

Not sure what Endangered vs New means, outside of my Weapon's ratings. Where's Storm, Might, Harm, et al?
