"In the case of a person feeling that way, I would suggest either looking for a purpose (involved with progress [good] ) to champion, or to walk off of a cliff. The world doesn't need people that insist on collapsing into themselves everyday because there's nothing substantial holding their existences stable.
Only a selfish bastard moans and groans listlessly about without trying to change the world for the better. Is 'God' the only person that shows up at your pity parties, Josh? Is that what you call your imaginary friend? 'God' ?
Yeah, I know I'm being mean.
Call it, "tough love." Unlike "God" I will give you a real reason to live and to make something of yourself. Maybe you should start calling ME 'God' from now on.
The way I see it, tough experiences will either make or break you. If you don't survive, then it's your fault for being too weak!!
Again, if you don't like something, fix it. Don't take medication. Fuck medication. There's a REAL problem in your life that requires a REAL solution. Bang a fucking girl for goodness' sake! And then get to work!"
This was written by a young man on a Facebook thread in response to me stating that I have clinical depression. This same person has been preaching human progress and "goodness" for days. Yet he has little tolerance for the slightest sign of weakness in people (which is what we grow from) or for the slightest amount of faith in God (which can create the strength he seems to value so much). I am not a violent person, but I would relish the opportunity to punch this guy. I cannot stand people who feign understanding of depression.
