Definitely very pumped for AB this year. I just heard an awesome Pillows song, and was inspired to post. Wait... every Pillows song is awesome... At any rate, it was a decent break, all in all. I didn't get any work done, which doesn't surprise me. I played a bunch of video games and hung out with my friends, which is the actual purpose of a break. I worked at Shaw's ONE DAY, which was nice. So, I'll have a check for $30 waiting for me when I get home...
My dad randomly bought me a DS Lite. It's really cool that he'd do that, but I feel kinda bad. I usually don't depend on my parents for anything like that anymore; I can't remember the last time they paid for something big like that. I mean, I'll ask for $20 for a used game or something, but this is different. I had planned/expected to sell my current, regula DS, take the money, and turn around and buy my own DS Lite. Having one put in my hands is, althought cool, very weird at the same time. I feel like I didn't deserve it... But I am VERY thankful, now all I have to do is sell my regular DS and buy some games. Or, more responsibly, pay my parents back.
Speaking of irresponsibly blowing money, I think I'm pretty much done with magic. I mean, buying individual boosters was never my thing, because they're too expensive that way. But, I get a discount at C&C, so boxes don't seem so bad. However, I don't really get the enjoyment out of it that I did a year ago or so. So, I think that the money from that could definitely go towards better things. Lauren came up with a good idea, though: When a new set comes out, we each buy a deck and split a box. Spending $50 every four months or so doesnt seem so bad. When I tally it like that, I should probably pull back on my video game spending...
One last facet of nerd-dom: Slipping back into D&D... I wasn't really out of it, but when I was home, I stopped at the sickest hobby shop I've ever been to: That's Entertainment. I love that place. Comics, Magic, manga, role-playing, the works. But anyway, I bought a used gaming book, and remembered buying my first set of rule books there... (You know it's bad when you get nostalgic over rule books...) But yeah, I definitely want to start playing here at school soon. I feel bad, cuz I know the players want to go, but us DMs can't seem to get our shit together, and nail a day down each week to play. At the worst, we play in the fall, when we work it into our schedules, and at best, we start very soon. Somewhere in the middle involves playing over the summer, which can be kinda messy, or at least a hassle, arranging places to stay and play.
Well, this entry turned out longer than I expected. Please, everyone, comment away! Except Brickhouse. I may be wrong, but I believe you've never posted something nice, asshole.
