I was looking at the psychic spell catalogue, thinking about the separation between Telepathy and Telekinesis that I thought was so necessary when I made it in 2008.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not a psychic. But it occurs to me that, were I to apprentice as a psychomancer in a fantasy universe, I would first learn how to use my mind in mindspace. Which I presume is where all minds reside. Only after successfully learning how to touch and manipulate other minds would I begin training in the crossover of the mind to the physical world. You know, minus the intervention of the body. That is to say, telepathy precedes telekinesis. I suppose clairvoyance technically would precede both, but let's keep things simple.
Like, really simple. Since telekinesis presumably must come after telepathy, why the hell have I separated them into two skills that must be separately trained and have an equitable distribution of powers?
I'm writing this to explain to myself why I'm collapsing them into a single skill again. I'll have to reassign the spell levels, but that won't take long. There aren't that many spells.
I've also decided how spell cost will be calculated, given adoption of Psychomancy Multiplier. The PM deduction will equal the spell level. That's all. Very simple and easy to understand. Spell costs for weaving will probably also be spell levels. With thaumaturgy, spell level will be the vague descriptor, while actual cost to divine favour will be a multiple of spell level (in all likelihood).
Enough for now.
