Soulthieves: quick rumination on divination and Intera.

I was on the pot and I was thinking about how the Soulthieves project has spun out of control again. One thought I had was that some present divinations - elemental magic spells - might be suited as invocations of Intera the Contemplative, the Clear Goddess of Wisdom. Divination, wisdom, makes enough sense. This led to the thought that perhaps all divinations should be clerical invocations under Intera.

That led to wondering how things might work if I really stripped down or even eliminated elemental magic entirely by transferring the spells to clerical magic. The custom invocations category might be expanded to the point that each deity would have their own discipline.

Still very nascent thoughts. But if I could work out a straightforward enough system, it could really simplify the project. Something else I was working on some weeks ago was changing the elements altogether, but if I go this route instead, I could just eliminate the elemental attributes altogether.

Wands would function differently. They might become the primary way of accessing many of the presently elemental spells. I might even introduce a distinction between wands and rods; wands would expend charges, while rods would expend your magic points. I'm not sure what those magic points would consist of, though. Wands/rods would practise some wand magic skill, similar to how things work in FOE.

A lot to consider. The implications will be wide-ranging. I might work on this more later.
