Flavour: unidentified forms (canisters, potions, wands).

Fun for the whole family.

Each canister has a distinct unidentified name in each game. Names are randomly generated. Names contain 2-5 sound units randomly selected from the following:

ACK; BARF; BATI; BEEF; BESSARION; BOSH; BRIFGAS; BUNN; CASTLEFRANK; CHLUP; CHNIP; CHNUG; CUMMER; DIV; DO; DUNK; EMP; ENK; EOK; EUK; EULV; FANSHAW; FEND; FICK; FLUNK; FOOD; FOOP; FORK; GEEK; GOKK; GOZZ; GWAZZUM; HA; HO; HULP; HUM; ICK; ILK; ING; KAT; KEET; KNUCK; KONK; KOOF; KWIO; LARF; LECK; LUNK; MEAT; MUNCH; NARF; NUCK; OOT; PLOUSSE; POOF; PUNK; PUS; QUAG; QUAK; QUUP; REL; RENK; RUB; SCHNADD; SCHNELL; SHERBOURNE; SIMP; SISHUNK; SKA; SKEET; SNA; SNESH; SNOOK; STEE; STONK; STUP; TRAF; TONK; TROZ; TUG; UF; UGG; UUT; VUNK; WOOT; WUXOTA; X; XA; XAA; XAB; XARF; XE; XEE; XENK; XI; XII; XIP; XO; XOO; XOX; XU; XUU; XUX; XUZ; XY; XYY; XYF; XYUK; ZICK; ZILBORT; ZONK; ZORT; ZUG

So, for example, a canister labeled 'XYFSNESHQUAGXIGWAZZUM'. The idea is that the only distinguishing feature of an inscrutable dull grey canister is an equally inscrutable label stamped onto the side. The canister might later be identified as, say, a canister of goofy gas. But you can't tell from the label, since the label is clearly unreadable nonsense from your perspective (and in reality). It was probably labeled by some ancient civilization of frying pan-wielding dwelves, before they split into the dwarves and the elves on account of discrimination policies based on their massive height discrepancy.

I might use this same sound unit list for scrolls' unidentified forms, but in that case the label is written on it when rolled up.

Each potion (excluding potion of water, potion of milk, potion of yogourt, potion of brandy, potion of cider, potion of eggnog, potion of mead, potion of mushroom liqueur and potion of whiskey) has a distinct unidentified name in each game. Names are randomly generated. Names contain 2 adjectives - a texture followed by a colour - randomly selected from the following:

textures: bright; brilliant; bubbling; chunky; cloudy; dull; effervescent; fizzy; flat; flecked; frothy; gelatinous; grainy; gooey; metallic; milky; mucky; murky; sandy; shimmering; shiny; slimy; slushy; smoky; smooth; spotty; streaky; swirly; thick; thin; translucent; viscous; watery

colours: alabaster; amber; auburn; azure; bay; beige; black; blond; blue; brown; burgundy; calico; celadon; cerise; cerulean; chartreuse; clear; crimson; cyan; dark; ecru; eggshell; emerald; fawn; fuchsia; golden; grey; green; indigo; khaki; magenta; maroon; multicoloured; navy; off-white; olive; orange; peach; pearly; periwinkle; piebald; pink; purple; rainbow; red; rosy; ruby; saffron; sapphire; scarlet; silver; skewbald; taupe; tawny; teal; topaz; ultramarine; vermilion; viridian; violet; white; yellow

For example, a cloudy off-white potion.

Each wand has a distinct unidentified name in each game. Names are randomly generated. Names contain 2 adjectives - a texture followed by a colour - randomly selected from the following:

textures: bright; brilliant; clammy; cool; curved; dented; dull; elastic; flecked; gaudy; gleaming; gnarly; holey; metallic; moist; paisley; rigid; ringed; rough; shimmering; shiny; slender; smooth; spotted; star-tipped; sticky; stiff; striated; striped; thick; thin; translucent; twinkling; wavy; warm; winged; wooden

colours: alabaster; amber; auburn; azure; bay; beige; black; blond; blue; brown; burgundy; calico; celadon; cerise; cerulean; chartreuse; clear; crimson; cyan; dark; ecru; eggshell; emerald; fawn; fuchsia; golden; grey; green; indigo; khaki; magenta; maroon; multicoloured; navy; off-white; olive; orange; peach; pearly; periwinkle; piebald; pink; purple; rainbow; red; rosy; ruby; saffron; sapphire; scarlet; silver; skewbald; taupe; tawny; teal; topaz; ultramarine; vermilion; viridian; violet; white; yellow

Are you proud of me, mommy?

A bit of work, but it's something. Basically the forms here are what you can make out of these items before you've divined their actual purpose or contents. When you first find, say, a wand of beams, it might be in the indiscernible unidentified form of a star-tipped cerise wand until you identify it by magic or by just trying it out. Identifying it doesn't change it, it only adds it to your item memory, so to speak; you'll remember what that form means in the future and your character will automatically identify those items from then on.

Don't get too pedantic about my use of the word 'texture'. Don't battle a man with a linguistics degree when he uses language as he sees fit.

I only now remember that I wanted to add eggs to the item catalogue as well. Oh well. I should have a pretty good idea of what I want to do there when I get to it. I was thinking also of putting together a more jocular version of Soulthieves' materials guide, so there can be items made of different metals with different qualities. I also don't want my Project Milk energy to completely fizzle.

Sexied.
