Poem: The Ballot Box Shuffle.

Oct 25, 2010 23:42

First you line up
Start and stop
The voting turnout
Skip and hop

You wait your turn
To have your say
Like all the rest
On voting day

You've got your chance
So make it work
Succumb to rulers
Queries quirk

You're in the booth
A cardboard box
A bit dull pencil
From voters' talks

The names are listed
With circles drawn
You scratch your head
On demonspawn

You've got your chance
So mark an X
Submit to terror
Write the cheques

You made your picks
Without a clue
So take the slip
And fold in two

Observers leer
As voters drop
Their folded slips
In through the top

You got your chance
And made it clear
You'll give them till
Another year

You had your turn
To make your way
You got your chance
On voting day
