Soccer and aneurysms.
I just watched the match between South Africa and Uruguay.
And this is why I don't understand soccer (or football, if that's your preference). Bad enough that such a chintzy foul on a diver would give a penalty kick in the first place, but a straight red card to the keeper Khune is…well, I dunno what to say. I really don't. But it's just another of the sorts of plays that throw us hockey hosers for a loop.
When the World Cup rolls around, frankly, I really only cheer the underdogs. But I dunno if I can bother. This sport is just too weird. I'd like to see SA turn a good performance against France, at least, but since they're practically out that's about the extent of my interest.
