I guess I should mention it now that everyone important knows, Kate's moving to Oregon at the end of the month...boo! It's the most sound decision financially, and it won't be for too awfully long ('til mid-end of may). We'll make it...especially since
jenndogg04 and I are planning on going out there during spring break..it should only end up being about 2 months that we'll be apart. Que sera sera. If you want to know any more, just ask..I'll happily answer :)
So, this weekend was pretty cool! I had a lot of fun, and Kate and I got a lot done and had quite a number of good meals :)
Friday, we have lunch with Diana @ the Junction (yes I had the eggs/hashbrows/cheese all mashed up), bought the new lappy (named MHHB by Diana (inside joke, it would take me hours to explain :) ), then it was off to Kate's apartment to pack it up. Deciding we were starving, since it was about 5:00 before we left, we headed toward Randall Rd...but in our inability to decide what to do (go into the city, or eat something quick) we ultimately decided (after getting on 88) to head to
Handlebar, which has a FANTASTIC veg selection (quite like Earwax which is mostly veg). I had the black bean maduro, it was freakin spicey and needed more cheese...but the plantains were to die for! I just wish it hadn't been so damn spicey! Nice little restaurant though, great beer selection (I had a
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter and an
Three Floyd's Alpha King), shitty service and it was freaking hot in there! I'd definately go again, but not at such a prime time (730p). So if you do the times, we took nearly 2.5 hours from leaving to get downtown...ha!
Went to Clark/Belmont and tooled around for a bit before heading back to Kate's place to organize some stuff and sleep.
Saturday, breakfast at the Original Pancake House...mmm mandarin crepes. Then it was off to pack the apartment. Holy shit! We filled at least 8 boxes and there are at least two more that can be filled...it took forever...massive purging of things by Kate. I started thinking about all the crap I'm going to have to move when I graduate, and figure that I'm going to have to do a massive purge as well...if I do it soon, I could probably find quite a bit to sell on eBay or some such thing. Anywho, we had Family Guy and Bebop playing the entire day (I think we ended up packing for around 6 hours) So, this weekend was pretty cool! I had a lot of fun, and Kate and I got a lot done and had quite a number of good meals :) The apartment is pretty much ready to be moved to storage next weekend. Let's hope that what's left will fit :)
Had dinner last night at California Pizza kitchen, yum. Hadn't been there since Iggypalooza back in July/August. Chilled here last night playing video games and working on computers, putting stuff away and general tidying in my room (which is still a pig-sty :) ). Kate left early this morning, and in an hour or so I get to go run errands and sit for a few hours in Barsema working on MS MapPoint (which is a nice little piece of software for GIS stuff)
Found out there's an electronics recycling thingy in April...guess I have to hold on to all these machines until then...bah...so many systems to get rid of! I'm going to try to salvage one for Diana...I've still got her P90 in the trunk of my car...ha! Anyone want it? I think I may actually have 2 of them...I forget what the machine in my closet is :)
So...um...that's about it...busy busy!
