Dear Beth:
I’m currently a sophomore at Brown University. But, cupcakes are pretty much the best thing ever. I love them. I’ve always been extremely artistic, something of a perfectionist, as you can tell by my extracurricular pursuits and grades, and these attributes will be of great value in my career as a cupcake froster. While I don’t have any formal experience in a commercial kitchen, I’ve spent my whole life learning to cook from my loving mother.
In addition to my potential as a cupcake froster, I’m particularly well suited for this position because I’ve spent a lot of time driving around enormous vans. White ones, at that. When I worked at R. David Adams Associates, I very frequently drove a Chevrolet S-10 van full of rather precariously arranged yard waste and yard tools such as lawn mowers and shovels all around the Seattle area. In addition, I took and passed with flying colors a van driver online tutorial in Providence so I could drive a group of my peers from school to a farm several times in an even larger white van.
Because of an internship opportunity, I’m available to work only part time, probably about twenty hours per week through August, 2005. I would be glad to elaborate on my skills and qualifications and can be reached at (206) 719-1807. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Joshua Finn
