(no subject)
Howdy folks.
It's been a long time since I've written anything View Askew, so it's a real treat to A.) be doing it again and B.) have cause to do it. What's the cause you ask? Why Clerks II, opening July 21st (that's tomorrow for the calender-challenged). The fates have been kind enough to bestow the DFW area with a midnight showing at the Parks mall in Arlington. I've organized a small band to go and it should be quite fun. I was planning to stay up late tonight watching Clerks and An Evening with Kevin Smith, but since I have class until the movie, that won't be happening. Still, it's a fair trade off to attend the midnight screening. As excited as I am to see Dante abd Randal again, have to say I'm most looking forward to Trevor Fehrman's performance as Elias, the Lord of the Rings/Transformers fan Christian. My interest in the role is A.) he looks to be turning in a wonderful performance and B.) the character looks to be quite like me, at least in interests (Lord of the Rings? Check. Transformers? Check. Jesus? Check.) I see no reason for this movie to dissapoint me like Superman Returns did. I'll be honest, I was underwhelmed by Jersey Girl so I haven't gotten to wallow in a Smith movie since 2001 (and wallow I did!)
Also, Micah is back in town, which is nice. He will also be seeing Clerks II tonight. We went to Steak n' Shake last night, per tradition, but something was lacking. Maybe it was the fact that we didn't get our usual table or the fact that we're both on fairly normal schedules now so we were tired, but it just wasn't the same. Tonight, however, should be quite lovely. After the magnificence of Clerks we'll be playing some Guitar Hero, which is always a good time.
This weekend looks to be like a good'un. I'm excited.
