Well the weekend was a success. Granted, I twiddled the bulk of yesterday away just recuperting enough from Friday to be in top form for Saturday night. Jason came over around 6:30 or so and we played some Guitar Hero before heading out to get drinks and games. I picked up some vanilla Cruzan as well as half a pint of SoCo. I probably shouldn't have spent the money, but weekends like this are rare. We also rented Gladius and Mario Party 6 (which ended up being a completely wasted rental; more on that below)
So we started up a game of Gladius because I wanted some of the characters recruited before Jared and Leo came over so we could all play. We also played some Conker's, which I initially didn't like very much, but warmed up to it very quickly once I found classes I was good with. And the Souther Comfort loosened me up a bit. Around 10:30 or so I called Jared because I thought he'd have already come over (or called) half an hour before that to make sure everything was okay. Granted, I was about 80% sure he wouldn't make it, being the least dependable person I know, but I was still a little bummed when he told me. I understand, though, Jared, so don't feel bad. It's a long drive to Fort Worth, so I get it. I just wish I could have known before I rented games and bought so much to drink. Ah well, hindsight's 20/20. Hope you feel better today, man.
Well, Leo couldn't make it until after 1 because of work, and Jason was real tired so he ended up jetting around 1 or so. So even though he was stuck in Stephenville, I went ahead and called Andrew B. and we actually had a really good talk, so much so that I wasn't upset at all about Jared not coming over and Jason leaving before Leo could come over So Leo comes over so I wrap things up with Andrew and we play some Gladius. The combination of Leo being sluggish getting off work and me being a rambling idiot because I embibed was not a very good combination. I didn't think he was digging Gladius too much, so we switched to MvC2 for awhile; always a good choice. We wrapped the night up with some more Guitar Hero and Leo left a little before 4:30. I ended up staying up well after 5. All in all, it was a very solid weekend.
After watching me shred on Guitar hero, people both Friday and Saturday night mentioned that we should have had girls over because that would impress them. I'm skeptical, because in the end it's still just a video game. I need to test this theory sometime. Man, I can't wait for the sequel.
