Did anybody watch the show for Hurricane relief the other day on TV? It had musical performances and a bunch of celebrities talking and asking for donations. I was flipping between channels and watching 3 different shows at once, so I didn't see this originally, but someone pointed me to the link.
Kanye either sells a million more albums, or loses a million listeners. Kanye West and Mike Myers are talking, and West just.....um, how to describe it. He's talking about the looting and rioting going on, and says that "THEY" have given "THEM" permission to shoot "us", us referring to blacks. Mike Myers just looks stunned, and does his little speech, and then West says "President Bush doesn't care about black people", Myers starts talking again and they quickly cut away before he says anything else, and cut to Chris Tucker who just seems stunned and has a "don't lump me in with you" look on his face. I remember reading as well that at the Live 8 concert for debt relief, Kanye West said that he supported the show "because the US put AIDS in Africa to kill black people." Not that Live 8 had anything to do with AIDS or specifically Africa, but why let facts get in the way of anything.
I'm not sure if this will affect his record sales, but I can see a few endorsement deals dying off. Why do accusations of racism always consist of "They"? You know, the people that's always holding your personal ethnic group down. Whatever, I'm just annoyed by stupidity and Kanye West seems to be as stupid as they come.
