The weekly at-work update

Wednesday I am walking through the main hallway of Park where a study abroad recruiter is set-up. She asks a passing female student, "Interested in studying abroad?!" The female student responds, "Just one, I'd like to study a whole bunch of broads!"

I'll start my discussion of Greek Week by writing of the end of it. Friday night: party at the B. Saturday night: party at the B. Sunday night: BBQ at the C and Oldies Night. Last night: party at the B. Tri-Sigma and SAE are pretty much obsessing over one another right now.

Now for how we have arrived at this conclussion:

Greek Week was amazing. Greek Week Champs for the first time in SAE's history! Mock Rock with Tri-Sigma was so much fun! I'm starting to miss the late night practices! I was in the opening song up front! It was also a partner song which we did to an old 50's tune. I was also in Jagged Edge which was a SAE only song (that is, we did it without the girls). It wasn't quite as great as NSYNC last year, but it was close! I had trouble changing my outfit in time between the 50's song and Jagged Edge so I was missing the arm bands. I was pissed. I seriously walked off the stage after Jagged Edge thinking I lost it for the team (shows how serious I take this stuff). I was also in the final song, "Party to Damascus." It was a rush. Our dance to that song was amazing. Ahhh! A few of the girls did a tap-dance during their lone song. I was still extremely nervous and felt that it was one of our worst performances of the week. We walked to our seats somewhat worried, but everyone was telling us that we should win easily (of course those people we're our alumni).

As J.J. got up on stage to announce the top 4, we all huddled close and some of us locked arms. They announced 4th, then 3rd, and finally 2nd. Second place went to Sigma Kappa / Sigma Pi. At this point some of us figured we had won, I wasn't sold on the theory. Somehow in my mind I still wasn't ready to believe we were going to win. When they announced Sigma Sigma Sigma and Sigma Alpha Epsilon as Mock Rock Champions I jumped out of my seat. We did the yell and cheered for like 10 minutes straight. Everybody was hugging and smiling...it reminded me of Dave Coleman's "I'm at the Airport!" Last year was a thrill as well, but we won the entire week this year!!! I need to stop boasting now.
