This week has been very good.
My hunt for a summer job is improving. The Detroit Science Center says they were "very impressed" with my resume and asked me to interview. They even said they would be willing to meet me in Lansing so I don't have to drive to Detroit from school. I also have an interview scheduled with Greenfield Village/Henry Ford Museum next weekend. I'm hoping to be hired as a summer day camp counselor there. ALSO, The Roeper School, a prestigious and very wealthy institution in Bloomfield Hills, asked me to apply to be a counselor as well! Wow. I have to have chance with one of them!
I decided to turn down the camp counselor position I was offered at Iroquois Springs, NY (aka Jew Camp) where Bill works. I want to spend this summer at home with family and friends since it might be my last in the area.
This past weekend was cool because many of the SAE alumni came up to visit. Friday night we were putting on an all-night charity volleyball tourney when our alumni come stumbling down the SAC stairs. In a matter of seconds the lobby smells and sounds like a bar. I love our alumni! Saturday night I went out to the bars with Scot, Molly, Strand, Bill, Jut, and some other AST girls. We made our way to the Pub, O'Kelly's, Wayside, and Taco Bell. It seems the entire chapter (including alumni) was the the Wayside. I can even count how many family shots I did. According to Greg, the night's DD, at Taco Bell we didn't eat, we just bought food, threw it on the floor, and socialized with people in the joint.
Finally, my study habits are kicking butt right now. I haven't missed nearly a single class. If grades came out today I think I would have a 3.5 GPA. That is lower than my goal, but I still have 10 weeks left. I spend more time in the library. I was their until midnight Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday this week. So that's all cool cool. Now the key: Keeping myself on track.
How's that for a work hard - play hard week. But like I said, the key is keeping myself on track.
Or is it? Are tracks good in nature?
