Hero.....
Hey,
I did a lot of thinking today. Infact..i thought all day long. I thought about God..my faith…my life..and hero’s. And I have talked to a couple of people about it today. But I just want people to read this. It may change your life…
As some of you may already know about 7 weeks ago myself and 3 other guys pulled three little children out of a burning car on Highway 18. I was going out on my night off from boy Scout camp… Whgen in the rear view mirror two cars hit head on..they collided..sending a red Volvo in the woods about 10 feet. The car was instally in flames…and it was the scariest thing I have ever delt with in my life. Buy my Boy Scout training proved it’s self that night. Myself and the other three guys knew just what to do…we acted with out a look back. I was told many times after this innocdenet that I could have been killed with what I did…or severly hurt. Apparently the bumper on this new model Volvo was “dint restiant” and it contained pressurized CO2 which if had been ignited it would have taken the bottom part of my body off.
Well after all of this…I began to question things…before this night I had almost given up on the most pure thing ever God….and I began to find myself again…I was going to parties…and doing stuff I shouldn’t have been doing…well I thought to myself that u know…god knew that mom and her daughter died because god had the purpose for them to die….and the God knew that myself and the guys would be there that night to rescue those kids…it wasn’t a mistake or by luck of the draw…I was there that night for a reason…I was apart of one of god’s Miracles…one of his great wonderful miracles.
I got al kinds of awards and attention I didn’t want…but if figure it’s almost over now so I don’t care. But I was called a hero…for the first itme in my life I was a hero…..3 little children are alive today because of what I did…that just makes me feel awesome inside..that I have done something for the good of the world.
I got all these people calling me a hero….and it doesent really obther me…but if you think about it…a lot of people are hero’s…that cub Scout that helped that woman across the stree..or the man who doesent just stare at the trash on the ground..but picks it up..the people who day in and day out put there lives at risk for ours…firemen, EMT’s First Responders, Police, ARMY, NAVY, MARINES, AIR FORCE, COAST GUARD, and believe it or not…the crossing guard standing in the middle of the road helping the little kids across the road.
You wanna know who my hero is….anyone who does something for me…my country..my family..friends..my FREEDOM……..
Some of my favorites are…the firemen..soldigers..and ppl like that…but as well…the Pfizer company…without them and there prescription drugs I could be dead today or very ill.
But the one that most of us over look is Jesus….he died for me..not all hero’s die…I could have died that day…firemen die every day trying to save lives from burning buildings. Police men get shot every day because they just pull a random guy over for speeding……But jesus died for everyone..he endured pain and torchure for all of us…so that wouldent have to do that….so that we could live free..and be with him one day eternally….
God has a calling in life for all of us….he already knows what were gonna do..he knew it the day we were born. I don’t know what mine is….but I may have an idea…as of November of this year…I will be a registered First responder with the Measnville fire Department….i don’t know if I am suppost to always help people or not….
But when I lay my head down at night and think…how amazing it is to feel that if I was to die tonight…I would be remembered…not by my family…but by these three little kids and there daddy. Mr. Redinz gave me a hug one day…he was crying…and he told me there is nothing he could ever do to thank me….and he doesent need to do anything…..
But my point is…do u know what you wanna do to serve God….Open ur eyes..and listen to what he tells you all the time..b/c it may be a sign….
And I am thankful every day for my boy Scout Training…that it works…you think you will never use stuff like that…I did…boy was I wrong…
“We are surrounded by heros. That fellow who opened that door for that little old lady at the store today is a hero to her. A kid's father is a hero to him. We pass heros in firetrucks and ambulances on their way to save some's life. We send heros to spred freedom to all parts of the world and to take out threats to our freedom. I see a hero in everyone I meet as long as they let that hero shine through.”
