Was I the only Mexican in the venue? Survey says...yes!

Death Cab for Cutie was AWESOME!!! General admission can suck it but they sounded fucking fantastic. Sure, I had to shotgun a couple of beers in order to stand in the middle of the crowd and some girl who smelled like skunky weed and B.O. kept following me (STINKY) but it was all so worth it! They played old and new stuff, with the crowd singing along quite a bit. They did three songs for their encore, ending with Transatlanticism!!! I am so glad I got to hear that live, I will forgive them for not playing Someday You Will Be Loved.

Ben Gibbard has lost some weight and the band as a whole is looking mighty fine these days. Definitely an upgrade, although now that I have seen and heard them in concert, I think it just supports my theory that for musicians, hotness is directly proportional to the sounds coming out of their mouth. *shrug* I was shocked to see that in some of the older pictures of DC, Ben (in the glasses) looks like a chubby version of the Dreaded Ex! So weird. I never noticed it before...

In other news, JP was able to get the refrigerator back up and running, but we decided to buy a new fridge anyway, as we were not sure how long JP's fix will last. We went to the scratch and dent store and found a sweet side-by-side GE Profile with some cosmetic damage on sale for $550. It retails for about $2100 so unless it blows up when we plug it in, I think we got a screaming good deal. Go us!

Ugh, my feet hurt from standing in steel toes for 5 hours last night (they sure came in handy, though - not only did my feet get stepped on three thousand times, the boots grounded me so I didn't get pushed or knocked over when everyone was shoving, etc. trying to get closer to the stage).
