Which leads to ANOTHER conundrum . . .

I am not a sincerely nice person.

But I do sincerely TRY to be a nice person, for sincere enough reasons, namely, I don't like hurting people's feelings.   I recognize my brand of humor isn't universal.

But sincerely nice?  Oh hell no.

When you talk about "living an authentic life" etc, how does that all pan out, I wonder?

Like, recognizing one's flaws and faults is a good thing, no?

My only real method of behavior modification is mindfulness . . . Recognize the fault, next time the situation arises, while you want to indulge in said fault, force yourself to do something else.  Even though ever fiber in your body is screaming to do otherwise.

I don't think this makes me insincere or unauthentic; however there is probably an argument to be made that it does.
